Hi, I’m Chloë,
Drawing for me houses primary marks and impulse. This instinctive movement often presides thought and consideration therefore can birth the truest marks. I like to look at convention unconventionally and have always been fascinated with evidence of social movement and encounters often echoing consumption. Drawing can come in all forms and is not dictated by a pencil or material.
This type of work holds spontaneity and movement yet focuses on real references and events. Physically traditional yet robotic in process my work often carries a very systematic linear aesthetic. This can be represented not only in drawing in a classic sense but digitally and sometimes sculpturally.
Culture and routines often link to repetition and patterns. This social system of documenting daily life holds heavy relevance to changing technologies echoing the initial rules of late 1970's Fluxus. This has been the main influence of all my work since studying the Ideologies at Uni.
